The Department of State has released the August 2024 Visa Bulletin, and our team at Garvish Immigration Law Group has summarized the key changes and noteworthy items for you.

USCIS determination for when to file for adjustment of status for family and employment categories remains the same under the August 2024 visa bulletin. Applicants in all family- sponsored preference categories will continue to use the Dates for Filing chart and applicants in all employment-based preference categories will continue to use the Final Action Dates chart.

Employment-based preference categories:

Employment-based preference categories for Dates for Filing and Final Action Dates progress remain the same from the previous month for all categories under Worldwide, China, Mexico and the Philippines. India remains consistent in all categories but EB-2, EB-3, and EB3-Other Workers where there is 1 month progression in each of these categories for each chart.

Family-sponsored preference categories:

The Dates for Filing under the Family-sponsored preference category progress remains consistent with the only notable changes displayed in F2A and F3 categories. F2A Worldwide, China, India, Mexico, and the Philippines has advanced almost 8 months (7 months 14 days) from November 1, 2023 to June 15, 2024. Other progress is seen for F3 Worldwide, China and India with a slight progress of 3 months from October 1, 2010 to January 1, 2011.

Family-sponsored preference categories for Final Action Dates remain the same from the previous month, with the exception of Mexico F2B where an advancement of 7 days is displayed.
