Entry Level Legal Assistant/Paralegal
Overview:
Garvish Immigration Law Group has an immediate opening for a Legal Assistant/Paralegal with at least one year of actual experience as a paralegal; experience as an immigration paralegal is a plus.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is a self-starter, enjoys working in a team environment, and is an innovative problem solver. Attention to detail and ability to follow through in a timely manner with attorney requests is very important. The ideal candidate will have an Associates Degree and experience in an immigration law office.
Responsibilities:
- Handle forms, client contact, document management and research as requested by attorneys
- Gather and secure client information and documentation
- Prepare USCIS and other government forms for attorney review
- Liase with government agencies (DOl, USCIS, NVC) to troubleshoot as necessary
- Assist attorneys with various U.S. visa petitions (H-1B, E-1 and 2, TN, O-1, J, etc.)
- Perform basic legal research and maintain oversight of individual case loads
- Manage case tracking for clients in Docketwise
- Provide back-up (if needed) when support employees are absent.
Requirements & Skill:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with USCIS procedures
- Computer literacy and experience with immigration software and proficiency with Google Workspace
- Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills and the ability to follow through on requests
- Ability to proactively anticipate next steps in matters
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work on multiple matters simultaneously in an organized manner with minimal supervision
- Flexibility and ability to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands

Office Administrative Assistant
Overview:
The Office Administrative Assistant has responsibilities for managing the pre-intake of clients. This includes but is not limited to answering the phone, gathering documents and information for each case, tracking analytics, and managing administrative responsibilities in the office.
Ideal candidates:
The ideal candidate is a self-starter, enjoys working in a team environment, and is an innovative problem solver. The ideal candidate will have an Associates Degree or experience in an immigration law office.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule events for managing members and attorneys as needed
- Manage correspondence with Potential New Clients
- Answer phone calls
- Fielding client questions
- Creating leads in case management software
- Draft emails and engagement letters for potential clients
- Scan and save documents to case management software
- Track and analyze lead data to assist with firm marketing
- Work directly with attorneys and marketing team
- With direction from the Administrator, implements and maintains the Firm’s policies, systems & procedures by ensuring the Firm’s activities are fully documented in writing.

- Bi-lingual speaker, preferably English and Spanish.
- Self-starter with excellent problem solving skills, attention to detail and follows through without prompting
- Knowledge of office equipment (printers, fax, etc)
- Proficiency in programs such as Google Workspace and basic CRMs, such as Docketwise and with Quickbooks
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work, multi-task and efficiently organize tasks and responsibilities.
Education & Experience:
The Administrative Assistant will have an Associates Degree, or equivalent work experience.
Proven experience as an administrative assistant, particularly in the legal arena; immigration law firm experience is a plus.
