Elizabeth Garvish and I recently had the incredible opportunity to attend the 2024 MyEO Women Summit in Seoul, Korea. This summit was a gathering of powerful, inspiring female entrepreneurs from 17 countries, including the USA, UAE, India, England, Germany, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Korea, South Africa, Netherlands, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, El Salvador, and Singapore.

The trip was nothing short of transformative. Meeting and connecting with fellow entrepreneurs from such diverse backgrounds was a reminder of the boundless potential and creativity women bring to the global business landscape. The summit was rich with insightful sessions led by international speakers who delved into topics that resonated deeply with all of us.

Key Takeaways from the Summit:

  1. Vulnerability and Belonging: We learned that vulnerability is not a weakness but a strength that fosters genuine connections and a sense of belonging in our professional and personal lives.
  2. Kindness as an Instigator of Courage: Embracing kindness can lead to courageous actions and decisions, breaking barriers and setting new standards in our industries.
  3. Becoming an ICON: The journey to becoming an icon in our own fields involves embracing our unique strengths and confidently stepping into leadership roles.
  4. Embracing Your Inner Critic: Understanding and managing our inner critic is crucial for personal growth and professional success.
  5. How to 10x Luck: We explored strategies to maximize opportunities and create our own luck through proactive and positive mindsets.
  6. Showing Up to Give: The importance of approaching every situation with the intention to give and contribute was emphasized as a pathway to fulfillment and success.
  7. The Art of Offboarding: Effective offboarding processes can greatly impact team dynamics and overall organizational health.
  8. Ranking Our Passions: Identifying and prioritizing our passions helps in aligning our work with our core values and achieving greater satisfaction.
  9. Sentiment Override: We discussed techniques to manage emotions and maintain a positive outlook, even in challenging situations.
  10. The Workmanship of Human Behavior: Understanding human behavior and its nuances is key to leading and inspiring teams effectively.

Each session left me with a renewed sense of purpose and a toolkit of strategies to implement in my professional journey. The discussions were not just theoretical but practical, providing actionable insights that I am excited to bring back to both my personal and professional life.

In addition to the enriching sessions, the summit included a variety of unforgettable excursions that showcased the beauty and culture of Korea. We visited the DMZ, the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea, which was a profound and educational experience. We enjoyed a breathtaking sunset river cruise, explored beautiful spaces during dine arounds, and participated in traditional tea ceremonies. For the smaller group excursions some women took a Korean cooking class, while others toured a majestic palace and temple. We topped off our trip with the most epic hot tub karaoke experience!

Meeting and networking with women from different parts of the world also underscored the positive experiences and successes we as women in business share universally. The camaraderie and support exchanged during this summit were truly inspiring, reinforcing the strength of collective empowerment.

I left the summit feeling inspired, motivated, and ready to tackle the challenges ahead with a fresh perspective and a stronger network of amazing women. The 2024 MyEO Women Summit in Seoul was a testament to the incredible impact that women entrepreneurs can have when we come together to learn, share, and grow.
