Garvish Immigration Law Group Announces Nadia Deans Kalata as Managing Attorney

Garvish Immigration Law Group proudly announces the promotion of Nadia Deans Kalata to the position of Managing Attorney (effective January 1, 2024), recognizing her exceptional contributions and leadership within the firm.

As Managing Attorney of Garvish Immigration Law Group, LLC, Nadia will oversee and direct our legal team, drawing upon her wealth of experience and knowledge. She will continue to represent local, national and international companies in securing global talent through Employment-based nonimmigrant visas and permanent resident cards. Nadia’s promotion reflects the collaborative and supportive culture at Garvish Immigration Law Group. 

Nadia has held numerous leadership positions within the firm, serving as Senior Counsel and Lead Attorney, as well as Chair of the firm’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Committee. As a long-term member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, she has held various leadership roles within the local chapter, including serving as a member of the USCIS Liaison Committee (2013-2015) and Co-chair of the New Members Division Committee (2011-2012).

Nadia’s experience covers a diverse range of employment-based immigration matters, from H-1B, L-1, E-1, E-2, E-3, O, P, and TN visas to PERM and National Interest Waivers. She also specializes in J-1 waivers for foreign medical graduate physicians who provide medical service to health professional shortage and medically underserved areas within the U.S.  Clients and colleagues alike have come to rely on her precision and dedication in navigating complex immigration cases.

Nadia is a graduate of Emory University School of Law (2006). While at Emory, she served as Managing Editor of the Emory International Law Review, where her student comment was published in 2005. She was also a member of the Black Law Student Association and International Law Society.

Additionally, her recognition as a Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2018 to 2021 underscores her commitment to legal excellence.
