May 2025 Visa Bulletin Summary

The May 2025 visa bulletin has been released by the Department of State and our team at Garvish  Immigration Law Group has once again summarized the important changes and noteworthy items.

For May 2025, USCIS will continue accepting adjustment of status petitions for applicants in employment- based preference categories based on the Final Action Dates chart. For family-sponsored preference categories USCIS will continue accepting adjustment of status petitions based on the Dates for Filing chart.

Here are more details on the employment-based preference categories:

The Final Action Dates chart for the employment-based preference categories displays progress only for the EB-3 India category which advanced by two weeks to April 1, 2013. All other categories remain unchanged.

Other noteworthy changes:

EB-5 India retrogressed six months  to to May 1, 2019.

At the end of February, 2025, the Department of State announced that all available EB-4 visas for the current fiscal year had been issued. Therefore this category remains unavailable.

Dates for Filing progress remain consistent from the previous visa bulletin with only a few advancements in EB-2 India and EB-2 China categories.

For family-sponsored preference categories:

In the Dates for Filing chart progress was seen only in the following categories (all other remain the same):

F2A Rest of the World, China, India, Philippines and Mexico moved forward 3.5 months to Feb 1, 2025.

In the Final Action Dates chart progress was seen only in the F1 Mexico category which moved forward by 3 months to April 22, 2005.
