The August 2025 visa bulletin has been released by the Department of State and our team at Garvish Immigration Law Group has once again summarized the important changes and noteworthy items.

USCIS has determined that for applicants in employment- based preference categories they will continue using the Final Action Dates chart and for family-sponsored preference categories they will continue to use the Dates for Filing chart.

Employment-based preference categories:

The Final Action Dates chart for  the employment-based preference categories shows retrogression in the EB2 category from October 15, 2023  to September 1, 2023.  The EB3 category shows some progress only for India which moved ahead by about a month.   Please click here to see the summary for Employment-based preference category for the August 2025 visa bulletin under the Final Action Dates Chart.

There was no change  in the EB-4 and EB-4 Certain Religious Workers categories. These categories remain listed as “Unauthorized”, meaning visa numbers are currently unavailable.

The Dates for Filing chart shows no changes from the July 2025 Bulletin.

The Department of State also warned that visa numbers in the EB-2, EB-3, and EB-5 categories may become unavailable.

Family-sponsored preference categories:

The Dates for Filing chart.remained the same in most categories showing no changes in the F-1, F-2B and F-3 categories across all regions. The F-2A category had a one month progression for all countries and the F-4 category had significant progression of over 3 months for China  and “All Other Areas”.

The Final Action Dates chart remained mostly the same as the prior month. Only the F4 category for India showed some progression by moving over three months.
