Elizabeth L.A. Garvish, Founder & Managing Member
Elizabeth L.A. Garvish is the Founder and Managing Member of Garvish Immigration Law Group, LLC. Elizabeth is the granddaughter of Hungarian immigrants and grew up with a love for languages and culture. These passions landed her in her very first job as an attorney at an immigration firm in Houston, Texas. As an immigration lawyer, Elizabeth had found her purpose. After years of immigration practice experience with small boutique firms, big law and nonprofits, Elizabeth founded Garvish Immigration Law Group, LLC in 2010. The firm was recently recognized as one of the fastest growing law firms in the country by Law Firm 500. Elizabeth is a frequent speaker and presenter on U.S. immigration topics around the world. She is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) serving on various national committees as well as serving as the Past Chair of the Georgia- Alabama Chapter of AILA.
Nadia Deans Kalata, Senior Associate Attorney
Nadia Deans Kalata is a Senior Associate at Garvish Immigration Law Group, LLC in Atlanta, Georgia. Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Nadia developed her passion for immigration law through her own personal experience with the immigration process in the United States. As a result, she has a unique perspective and understanding of her clients’ concerns and the challenges they face when dealing with the U.S. immigration system. Nadia has over twelve years of experience in both business and family-based immigration. Over the years, she has developed her expertise in assisting local, national, and international companies in securing global talent through intracompany transferee (L-1), specialty occupation (H-1B), and treaty investor (E-2) visas. Nadia has been selected as a Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Star (2018 and 2019).
Alexandra Vasquez Sarrine, Associate Attorney
Alexandra Vasquez Sarrine is an Associate Attorney at Garvish Immigration Law Group, LLC in Atlanta, Georgia. She has been practicing immigration law since 2012. Prior to joining Garvish Immigration Law Group, Alexandra worked at another Atlanta-based immigration law firm, focusing her practice on family-based immigration and removal defense. Now, Alexandra focuses her practice on employment-based immigration, assisting businesses obtain nonimmigrant and immigrant visas for their employees, as well as family-based immigration including waivers. While in law school at Emory, Alexandra served as Executive Administrative Editor of the Emory International Law Review, was actively involved in the Latin American Law Student Association, and volunteered many pro bono hours to local organizations. She is currently a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the State Bar of Georgia. Alexandra’s family is from Bogotá, Colombia, where she has traveled many times. Alexandra is fluent in Spanish.
Verna Polutan, Of Counsel
Verna Polutan is a graduate of Cornell University (B.A. Govt.) and New York Law School (J.D. 1997). Attorney Polutan practices primarily in the areas of business and family immigration law, business law and entertainment law. She has been engaged in the practice area of immigration law since 1998. After graduating from law school, Attorney Polutan worked in private practice for an immigration law firm in New York City. She moved to Los Angeles in 1999 and worked as an associate at one of the largest immigration law firms in the West Coast. Attorney Polutan established her law office in 2002. In the area of business immigration, Attorney Polutan specializes in the representation of foreign nationals who are in specialty occupations. The latter also includes employees of multinational corporations, international entertainers and athletes, scientists, medical and scientific researchers, computer engineers and healthcare workers. She has done work for companies such as Medecins Sans Frontieres, Qantas Airways Limited, Columbia Artists Management, Inc., Disney and American Media Inc.
